It happens all the time.... Labor party gets in, makes a mess of the economy, the Libs are elected, they sort-out the problems, then they are booted out leaving enough in the kitty for a few years ...And so on.... BUT where Howard failed, and his advisors should have known better: He touched on Medicare...He is about to bring its collapse, and the overwhelm majority of Australians don't like it.... Health, and more specifically Medicare and the hospitals are sacrosanct to the Australian electorate... You can't mess with them and expect to get re-elected!! To a certain extent, the same can be said about education.....The Libs (Howard) wants to elevate private education higher than public at the expense always of the latter.... That again is a definite NO!! NO!!!!!
