    I am not sure pe is the best way to accurately measure a company like IPR though.

    IPRs earnings are so lumpy and inconsistent that the pe based on the most recent FY is like a once off windfall gain...

    I think looking at their assets is a better measure, with some value given to the cases currently on their books (which is very difficult to put an accurate value on, but has value nonetheless.)

    Doing that, they are under their cash backing, with no value accorded to future earnings.

    But for those investors who start their analysis using pe, they should hopefully come to the same conclusion we do.

    Or, once the financials are out, searches on book value with also come up trumps for IPR.

    It really doesn't matter how you slice and dice your analysis - the conclusion must be the same...
