what you suggest is just pure trading and thats it
even with a put contract for example, there has to be a buyer to be a party to the deal, an obligation to take the stock ata set price
i suggest anyone who doesn't think i'm right , just ring the asx on 131279, takes less than 5 mins for me anyway
fund managers can only short approved securities as per the shortsell list of what they short, surprisingly enough they are all stocks that have a certain index weighting of asx300 and higher
we'll neevr see a stock such as cvi being on the shortsell list
it amazes me the amount of work needed to defend this fact lol
