Not sure why you are obsessed by biofuels. They take more energy TO produce than they actually produce. When you get some as a by product of something with economic value, better to use it than to toss it I guess.

Pyrolisys requires a vacuum (takes energy to produce) and wicked high heat (again, takes massive amounts of energy to produce). The biofuel resulting as a byproduct of the carbonization is inconsequential.
