this is where I am a bit puzzled. In that original announcement they did say 7,500 modules (15,000 spirals) a year. Now going on what we heard quite some time ago a module alone was worth about $10,000 sales wise but the overall value was said to be double that when fully included in an Aspiral unit. Thus of course $10K X 2 X 7,500 is $150 million US value in a year at full production.
I do understand that this ramp up to full capacity could just be until they have sufficient stock in hand to satisfy the initial large quantity of modules to start the assembly hubs.
However in the article Will and you found there was this reference:-
making it easy to meet the 2020 sales forecast.
Let's say the sales forecast for 2020 will be $40 million as you guessed and also allow for the fact the ramp up is for at best only half the year there still is a big difference between the possible production and the possible number of modules actually sold in 2020.Of course there are a number of factors we do not know, maybe something was lost in the translation,and maybe the ramp up will be relatively short lived.
I was always the kid at school asking too many questions but it did certainly help my poor addled brain understand stuff.
