That is right @silsol & current screening (eGFR, ACR, dip stick tests for albuminuria etc) will only detect kidney damage once it is already well on it’s way. Important in early detection of CKD & monitoring of renal function, but the damage is already there. None of these tests are new.
PromarkerD takes this a step further to prediction BEFORE damage occurs (up to 4 years prediction as @silsol pointed out). This then may mean for a patient increased frequency of screening, lifestyle changes & medications to control BP etc and/or to now choose a drug to treat their diabetes that may assist in any progression of kidney disease Invokana (Canafliglozin), Janssen.
Yes it potentially could save Governments billions in healthcare costs looking at global statistics (I’ve posted enough of those previously, & USA ones reliably up to date included in AKF/Janssen collaboration article posted yesterday).
As @wisdomofsilence said “flying under the radar”. We have revenue here & things are moving ahead nicely & I truly believe the dots are starting to connect in the USA. Yes it’s a wait to go through clinical trials etc & the test was commercially ready; I’d far rather wait for something BIG & significant we know what is potentially coming with Janssen collaboration (J&J), than occasionally wonder “what’s going on?”. We will soon know.
BTW @wisdomofsilence welcome on ACW, it’s a bit crazy over there at the moment with all the DTs. It’s fabulous our last ANN showing cognitive improvement in healthy volunteers (a given for Ph1 trials except maybe in Cancer, with healthy subjects in dose escalation, have many got no idea in trial Phases? Probably not). This is a dose escalation study midway with no safety issues, there are more trials happening & held through the doldrums with conviction at 0.008-0.009c & Av down, too much conviction for a breakthrough drug on a low dose trial “failure” in cognition, other good things, crossing the BBB (blood brain barrier) has been even a huge challenge, Xanamem has achieved that. It’s very risky with AD, but there really isn’t much in that clinical space in way of treatment, let alone cure, so risk vs reward.
There are some fabulous & knowledgeable posters there I have trust in from being invested for LT. ACW board was a bit like ours before the latest ANN. The volume is huge, there has been SP manipulation in the last 2 days & it’s tricky trading ST, & there are also some good guys there who are DTs too & have been offering good commentary plus have also seen the light on FA. I’ve met a few DTs recently who have been so convinced they have taken a longer hold in a few biotech stocks & have been rewarded well. @drifta has been great on ACW. I think it’s nice if you can take profit & free carry..
Make no mistake either, Big Pharmas are aware of what’s going on with Xanamem. How do I know this? Dr Bill told me himself in an email how things went at International Bio 2019 (June 2019) in the USA & I had emailed him about a rubbish online Bio article that had big holes in it to alert him to it, as I thought it damaging to the company after an already big hit with a Ph2. (So still a lot of Pharma interest after a Ph2 so called “failure” in a lower dose in AD). He replied me on his return to Australia. They had 20 meetings with various Pharmas & he felt it very successful. This was inspite of Xanadu 10mg trial which showed no end points in a Ph2 for AD in cognitive impairment. Why am I posting this information on an unrelated stock?
Because we have a valued member here invested recently in a stock that the trading is nuts & the HC boards become very confusing, with a healthy dose of downramping with no idea. I think go back before before the latest ANN for FA. I think there is accumulation happening & attempting to scare retail into selling. No one reads PIQ @wisdomofsilence, we are under the radar lol, you will probably believe that information is true. I don’t believe in sharing personal emails, but I still have it & just wanted to let you know that as a heads up after your very kind post to me the other day on ACW. Life can be tough at times.
I see PIQ as a far more stable, technically advanced & potentially profitable investment in long term & even ST now, I think this will kick off relatively soon. Up to you how you build individual portfolios, but just couldn’t help sharing a bit of ACW insight with a mate here tonight. It’s just becoming interesting as the news is digested & allowing time for DD. Have a great long weekend all, I think ASX trading Monday though. Will have time to watch.x
