A cynic might say that they have no option but to use the surrounding dunes because the limited playa surface area allows no alternative other than off-lake ponds.
A good result nevertheless. Multiple companies have now demonstrated that on-playa ponds are feasible.
These guys will want to keep the momentum up now that TMG have joined the party with projects and intentions very similar to APC.
