OMG! Sodium fluoride is what they put into our toothpaste. Perhaps we should stop squeezing our tubes and shoot off an email to Colgate. The manufacturers are obviously pig-ignorant in their understanding of Chemistry 101.
Don't put your fingers in your mouth? The lethal dose for a human is estimated at 5–10 g. You would have to actually eat quite a lot of that 'wrong rock' at Kvanefjeld, and not just put your fingers in your mouth.

As for saliva turning sodium fluoride into hydrofluoric acid, that explains why holes keep developing in the glass I use when cleaning my teeth. I should have known that hydrofluoric acid is famous for dissolving glass. But as with the toothpaste manufacturers, I am pig-ignorant when trying to understand Chemistry 101.
