Worth everyone remembering that a megabit is not a megabyte - 8 megabits in a megabyte.
Current objective is for a megabit chip.
My thinking is that, as they’ve mentioned in a number of announcements, the megabit chip is all that is needed to prove the metrics.
presumably upscaling up is as ‘simple’ as connecting multiple megabit chips. Have read somewhere that scalability is almost a given once megabit proven, though can’t remember where and can’t vouch for the accuracy of that statement.
I don’t think plan A involved 4DS developing any further than the megabit chip. It seems to involve making the megabit chip and then interrogating it to produce the info that will (hopefully) impress the big players... with the lucky bidder then going on to scale up and further refine.
No mention of megabyte scale, nevermind gigabyte, though presumably if no buyers despite coming to the end of Plan A then ongoing development is a given - but would that be improving performance or proving scalability?
