My 23 year old daughter does not have a credit card and uses Afterpay occasionally. She is not a Mastercard reject she just hates credit and the thought of paying interest and fees. My daughter would walk half a kilometre to her bank's ATM to avoid an ATM fee; that was until she discovered the orange credit card which has no fees at any ATM in Australia.
These millennial consumers are much smarter than we were at the same age.
