Yes exactly - as your post indicates the geology is highly complex and folded, so its possible to have younger rocks appear on top of older rocks depending on where you are in the fold and with faulting complicating matters further. As I said earlier - compare the cross section from Nov 2018 to todays announcement, same rocks and drill holes only 9m apart but the interpretation of the geology has differences in dip and thicknesses of units.

Generally at Little Duke the rocks look to be striking roughly north-south but they are not sure whether they have a steep dip to the east or to the west yet, and just because the general meta-sediments are in that orientation doesn't necessarily mean that the veins and sulphides follow that same orientation, they could do - or they could be associated with a cross-cutting feature and be in a completely different orientation to the rocks seen at surface. Thats why a scissor hole in the opposite direction with overlap onto the recent existing diamond hole was suggested on a known drill section, with some drilling already on it, so their geologists can at least solve the problem on a 2D section plane before trying to work out if its a 3D geometry problem or not.

Also correct in that the Mt Freda orebody and open pit itself strikes almost East-West and seems perpendicular to most of the nearby geology.

I would guess they are reporting visuals in this core hole because otherwise there is potential for photos and just general rumours to leak out from site, drill core is difficult to hide and someone at AMG has decided that the core, even without assay results is potentially materially significant to the share price of AMG, so hence the recent announcement. From what I have seen a lot of the drilling so far has been RC percussion drilling that isn't as visual and spectacular as drill core and is notoriously difficult to photograph and estimate mineral percentages from unless you are a geologist, and most of Mt Freda and Golden Mile stuff is a gold dominant system anyway so not a visual copper sulphide deposit

In that core I am seeing ladder type veining and stylolitic overprinting veining in several different apparent orientations, and possibly several different generations of veining too, so their descriptions of a breccia (or intensely veined rocks) is accurate, and once you are within this type of brecciation its a data intensive process of measuring the angles of all the veins to the axis of the drill core to see if there is any overall pattern or preference (or not).
