All fair points footynbeers, but probably somewhat superficial.

Many older products carrying trails are much cheaper than "current" products when all up advice/ manager fees are taken into consideration.

Our firm has been established for decades and never once "traded up" .25% trails to the lucrative .6% or even higher fee for service arrangements commonly seen as "best practice".

Maybe l have been around too long in this game. You used to build a business by delivering results for clients, not the service provider. If you did your job well, existing clients were easily retained and new ones were pretty easily gained. Business income then grew with the business model.

As for losing 75%, l think you will find Core Data research suggests a firm retains 75% of grandfathered income. Their FPA webinar yesterday went to great lengths to discuss what value was being provided to the 25%.

I think the stats vary from firm to firm and l have no real clarity on how the Count group operated.

We will all see in due course what $2.5m bought CUP shareholders.
