I am actually very happy to see all the comments back to my post. If nothing else my post has given people a reason to set out clearly how they see progress and their rationale for sticking with the business. That can be nothing other then a positive and hopefully those hunting around for investment opportunities will be interested.
The responses have been well thought through, demonstrate a logic and show support for the direction that is being taken.
I imagine that is heartening for the board. I do think that had they not suffered those early years of narcissistic leadership the market in general might have had a different reaction to their progress. The current state is I guess a clear lesson on how hard recovery is when reputation is damaged.
There is just the tiniest bit of me that is also grateful for the lessons and the understanding it gave me of a class of human that I didn’t quite get beforehand. That has been enormously freeing for me even though I am substantially poorer for the experience. (And btw we never were super wealthy and only one of us actually earned it).
