Nobody mentions Lithium because it cannot be replaced efficiently and all the new battery factories are configuring for one chemistry mix or another. Follow the money being spent and find out why.
If talking chemicals there is nothing more suitable on the redox table (even though it is nasty and we have not yet started recycling)
The only risk here is alternative fuel sources or capacitive type technology.
If talking battery chemistry that will not attempt to kill you, Lithium is basically the holy grail.
