A query on Webjet as I'm still doing some research and merits of further investment.
HotelBeds is the largest B2B operator in the travel industry by far and is owned by private equity firms and a Canadian Pension Fund. HotelBeds has 170,000 hotel partners and access to 60,000 travel agent customers. However, Webjet is apparently growing faster than HotelBeds but along way to go to catch up in terms of number of hotel partners (28,500 i think) and direct contracts with Hotels.
HotelBeds has come under scrutiny from some Hotels with some of HotelBeds travel partners dumping stock onto the wholesale market and thus reducing prices overall and in some cases has pulled stock from certain travel partners.
Whilst good news for Webjet, how is Webjet getting on top of this issue if or when it occurs as I've not heard anything in this regard?
