I also owned a farm and had to shoot and bury my stock during the 82 drought that was far worse in that area than the current drought.
Another difference this time is that stock is worth a lot of money whereas you could only get $0.20 for a sheep in 82 and you would have to send a cheque with the truck to get rid of them, that's why so many sheep were shot.
