I am also in the Logistics Business and I agree that currently Cargowise One is the only choice available running in the cloud for for a multi-national company. With that being said there sales and marketing is far slicker than the actual product. Many companies find management like the reporting and global visibility but the end users spend far more time completing their work. In addition Cargowise requires a team of consultants to keep it working the way you want and to train users etc. Cargowise basically sell you the product and pass you on to their consulting partners.

There will be competitors to Cargowise again in the future and some/many of their larger accounts are going to question whether or not they need their own systems as a competitive advantage - producing software is becoming cheaper and cheaper - the key is understanding the business and Cargowise is not well respected in this regard - they make everyone do things the Cargowise way. The reality is that once people in the industry get tired of this Cargowise will no longer be the only solution.

They did very well thru timing and luck - getting a few huge deals around the time of the IPO (DHL) and with existing customers taking over competitors and adding to the user base. Again as these larger companies stabilize their operations - they will start to look at other options for software.
