This is interesting. Considering these are contracted costs & partnerships entered into with open eyes. In the Afterpay case, being 'free to consumer' the 'fee' is almost simply a commission on sale? An increased purchase price charged for the use of Afterpay would more than likely simply be accepted by Afterpay users though I am certain there would be some effect on total sales via the platform (slightly lower growth). I think this argument is rather naïve though, as my belief is Afterpay & other services are increasing the sale of 'full price items'. I understand there is an ethical issue here though which i'm sure is the angle that this will be viewed from.
