Not true, you can afterpay holidays & experiences, car parts & repairs, required school books & school uniforms, sole traders can offer afterpay for house maintenance such as plumbing/painting/lawn maintenance (Jim's Plumbing use Humm!), dentist & doctor appointments, the list is endless really... APT isn't specific to millennial's splurging on junk
APT is also good for unforeseen expenses, which you completely left out of the equation when you said people should only borrow for a house or car, especially if one is anti CC for the interest rates/debt... say your car breaks down and you're hit with an unexpected $1500 mechanical bill for an engine repair, and the mechanic has APT... are you going to afterpay if you haven't got the entire $1500 up front, or will you wait and save over the next 3/4 weeks, whilst your engine gets worse, and/or the car is undrivable? There is definitely a place for APT in the world.
