Charts and averages are a function of the market price and not the other way round as you seem to suggest. When the price climbs back up, the moving average will follow suit and return to the average share price for the period.
In my view, technical analysis is not worth a pinch of salt in this current market and neither are some fundamentals. Geez, we just had a five fold increase in reserves and poor old MPO gets smacked. When the cashed up buyers stop sitting on their wallets and decide to start investing again MPO will be one of the first choices as an extremely undervalued stock at its current levels.
Nice to see a big improvement in market depth over the last day or so. The whole gas sector seems to be having a rally right now.
