Why not refer to original document related to Commonwealth (ASX announcement)& see whether they mentioned specifically CNP, or did the journalist knowing Commonwealth had lent to CNP just use his journalist's license to make such a comment. Don't believe any bank would make such a comment about a client who is not currently in default.
Banks may not be very professional at times, but they are streets ahead of most journalists in their professional behaviour as shown by their public image & media releases.
