Any fear or greed, by definition not relying on ration, doesn't take into account valuation. That's why hedge funds like Howard Marks', whose research compelled them to act boldly on deeply undervalued assets and begin BUYING with Billions of dollars around 9 March 2009. That's why I, with a thought to Marks, went to nearly 30% cash just over a year ago. Then in January began buying bargains strewn about in the growing December panic.

My final words on this market dynamic is that CYP was at greatly different stages of its evolution. Therefore different cash injection amounts have different impacts at differen times. The "tip" money showed a NEW area of active research with a large addressable market for many in many different ways, eg. profit (greed), health (hope). In this instance greed trumped fear.
