Great idea IMO - this will improve liquidity 10fold and as mentioned above, will attract traders & investors who'd normally be put off by a high SP (not that this will change MC though).
The other point worth noting is companies that do a split often have their share price gravitate back to where it was pre-split. Definitely psychological factors at play.
