NRW has jumped to the head of the queue for mining and construction contractor BGC Contracting.

There’s been a lot of conflicting messages around NRW’s interest in the BGC business, with the group at one stage reportedly cut from the auction because its offer wasn’t high enough.

However, word on the Terrace last week was that NRW has been granted exclusivity and was looking to wrap up a deal with BGC’s advisers from Macquarie Capital by the end of the year.

In February, BGC founder LenBuckeridge’s heirs revealed they would push ahead with the sale of BGC Contracting, which turns over about $1 billion a year, but would retain the family-owned group’s multi-brand home-building business......”
