    IMO there are risks both ways - long & short. IMO media reports alleging global targeting of BHP for shorting reflects efforts to smash share prices world-wide & I acknowledge their succes in that regard. I guess the logic is that if you can smash biggies like BHP nothing is safe & prices will collapse even further.

    My SMSF is still about 60% cash so that I will be happy to buy more BHP if it falls below $36 - I buy another parcel of BHP when it falls $1 below my last purchase, selling about 20% of my holdings when a 15% profit is realised!

    I do feel for those facing margin loans & those fully invested atm though.
