I am an ex-holder of OSL shares and I've posted here before and then said I was exiting - and did - but I have been logging on lately to read what's been said and I can't understand why people keep attacking those who question the science or OSL management's own claims. Isn't the purpose of these forums to have a robust debate rather than just a fan club where people with differing opinions aren't welcome? What difference does it make whether somebody holds the shares or not? Does their holder/non-holder status make their opinion any less valid? I see 3 or 4 people here trying to balance all of the hype with some facts that suggest that the upside here probably isn't as great as what OSL's current management would like you to think. If you disagree with these people - use facts, not name-calling and suggesting that they are down-ramping to buy the shares at lower levels. OSL management are always going to paint the company in the best possible light that they can. That's their job, and as shareholders in OSL themselves, of course they aren't likely to highlight the risks or the downside. They are going to put the best possible spin on everything. As shareholders and potential shareholders, our job is to try to ascertain whether we are being told the truth or not, rather than just accept everything they say at face value. We can do this by fact-checking, by looking at what trials they are comparing their own to (in terms of results, PFS, OS, etc.) and what trials they have chose to ignore (and try to form a view as to why they may have done that). We can look at what other devices and treatment options are available and are currently under development, and try to form a view as to where OncoSil are going to fit into that landscape in the future. There are people here trying to help us do just that, and they just get attacked for expressing their opinions. And they are backing up their opinions with verifiable facts and references. You don't have to agree with them, but if you don't - you could explain why - using your own facts and references.
I'm out of OSL now because I lost faith and trust in their management. And that was before the CMO and CFO walked. I know people who still own OSL shares, and I hope for their sake and for the sake of all holders that OSL go on to bigger and better things now.
However - I have a bad feeling that Daniel Kenny might just be looking for a higher exit point for himself - and I mean that in terms of both his employment with OSL and his shareholding. The language used in the latest announcement - about closing out questions and concerns - seems a little too vague and too similar to what he's said in prior years. Even if OSL do get the CE Mark (and based on their latest announcement I certainly don't think that's a given at all), I'm not sure how successful their commercialisation strategy is going to be considering the lack of proof of efficacy and other competing treatment options that are either already available or currently being developed. Kenny always talks about the lack of new PC treatments over past decades, but he doesn't talk about the present or the future too much in terms of what OncoSil are currently up against. I think we need to have some healthy scepticism when reading Kenny's claims - based on what he has delivered for shareholders over the time he has been in charge of this company (nothing) and what he has been paid during that period (a hell of a lot). The device works. It's also reasonably safe and well tolerated it seems. However, as an investment at this point, it looks like a high risk gamble to me.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, whether they hold shares in a company or not, so let's not get personal please. Play nice!
