Looking at the discussion. You are on the right track but there is a lot more to know. The massive debt and funny money based financial system benefits a very few to an extreme degree. Not talking about politicians here. America and Oz have much in common. The reward from what few productivity gains there have been in the past 40 years have mainly gone to a very small proportion of the population. Im not being bolshie here. Its a statistical fact.
The middle is copping it. The bottom end live poorly but are supported by the middle. The middle documented workers (not the tradies) are the ones who pay all the income taxes.
The whole US house of cards is looking extremely unstable, wobbling, in the beginnings of a death spin.
What would you do if it fell off the edge?
Might be time to learn about permaculture. Backyard farming. How to do alot with a little. We are surrounded by opportunity like this. Just have to look. How to do things for yourself, how to cooperate with decent others to share tasks and burdens. Not talking hippie communes. Just commonsense. Try for the best prepare for the worst, live with what comes as best you can, but be a contributor of you can.
Funny thing to say here but even us stockmarket tragics need a few diversions. Keep you sane? There may well be big trouble ahead.
