I'm not sure if it is a conspiracy theory, insider trading or just people who know some facts and don't listen to internet gossip taking advantage of a very distressed sp.

These people are probably in for the long haul and aren't concerned too much with a bit of noise.

They probably also have jobs that pay well in the real world and don't have to scalp a few pennies in order to pay next months phone bill.
