    Crikey

Someone has to have the task of making the decision - wadayawant a bloody referendum on it and let the poor critter starve for 18 months while we make a decision and all the drop kick idealist drongos sit around smoking mull trying to figure it

OK some may want to have done otherwise - but where do you draw the line - perhaps some would wave magic crystals over it and make it live - others would do other things - others woudl call on aliens to help it - like the car sticker say "Magic Happens" - indeed it does occassionally but reality is crap happens more often!

If an animal is suffering there is in my mind little time for debate and contemplation

SOmeone had to make a decision - they are more qualified than market traders to make that decision- they had to make a decision and they made it.

Provided the decision was made in the animals interest (and I think it must have been because every political interest would be against it coz doing it will see the decision used against us in a greater debate)

Then put the poor little bugger out of misery regardless of the later arguments

Forget the politics - if it looked like the little bugger was gunna starve to death then put it down quickly coz the alternative is far less pleaseant

AND YES - THERE ARE OCCASSIONS WHEN I WOULD SEE THAT AS APPROPROPRIATE in HUMANS as well. Stopping treatment on humans when it is a lost cause seems acceptable - stopping feeding and watering them seems also to be acceptable - in my mind it is not - it i instead an abomination.

Stop treatment and feeding and watering and let them disolve - no - if you reach that point do the right thing and finish them - dont leave them to linger

For some reason however we dont treat humans as kindly as we do animals
