The riser system selected is precisely because of the typhoon environment...danger approaches take cover when necessary...danger passes, back to work.
This system has/is being adopted right round the world in these hazzardous areas (for offshore)...the time saving to get back to production is by and large much faster than repairs to something that has been ripped loose from a fixed mooring/riser system.
The commissioning of a production system like this would generally take about 3 weeks, but since the commissioning began, we have seen numerous stops for hazzardous conditions (including extra delay for damage caused during one),...and let's not forget the initial start up delay caused by the RI sitting in Batangas Bay prior to moving to the Galoc field...red tape??
Let's hope our patience is handsomely rewarded!
