It is mind boggling that in the year 2019 that analysts and the market still look to the incorrect data to determine what the monetary policy settings should be. The unemployment rate has become obsolete, archaic indicator given the structural change (yes we love that word in the IO market haha) of PT employment overwhelming the labour market.
The reality is the labour market is the weakest it has been given the capacity utilisation reading and the resistance to achieving a more favourable reading is the highest it’s ever been!
