"No support for our agricultural industry in a serious drought.
An economy that has had no real growth (per capita) for years."
well - why should the farming business be any different to any other business?
and, for an example - a LOT of these agricultural businesses shouldn't be continuing - they are working on land that just cannot do it
as to 'conservative governments' -
the WA department of agriculture did a major report for Government saying that it should NOT renew grazing leases that were due for renewal of 99 year leases because it was damaging the environment and the whole thing was unviable
The Government in it's infite wisedom went against the recommendations of it's own department and renewed the leases ----
now - it appears that some people think that farming and grazing should be given some sort of support during droughts??????????
arrrh - this would include all from mum and dad's to corporations?????
they are businesses ------------ do we see small or large business getting handouts for governments to stay in business when times are tough??
oh, that's right - yes, we do - we see governments handing out huge sums to large corporations to base business in certain areas --
the car industry - hmmmm ------ remind me again - how did that one work out?
Australia is a land of drought -------- why should any public money go to any loony who wants to chance their arm against nature?
If you are a business - then, insure for income protection - if you are a farmer in a drought area - see how you go with that one
whilst you read up on this stuff -- also read up on how farmers treat casual workers and foreign workers - there's some major investigations into it -
then, see how one feels about offering public money to these people
