OK, so Saracen is buying the super pit. Super happy about EVN not going for it. Even when EVN bought those fabulous opportunities from Glencore, the SP got hammered very badly. All the analysts' recommendations went SELL SELL SELL because all they saw was an onboarding of a ton of debt and new mines introduce some risk. The SP recovered (of course) but I think anyone buying the super pit at this time is being pushed, not jumping. Shades of SBM having to buy that mine in Canada as their resources got harder to reach. Anyway... a $700M raising. I wish them fun with that.
