As I said earlier in this thread, there are two other possible permutations for people buying now, in addition to the price differential relative to the 'complete' takeover price. My personal understanding and musings are, that subject to the ATO's ruling, there may be a tax loss available to those purchasing now, at $13.20, versus the $12.75 capital price. And for some investors - where they have less than $5k in franking credits across all stocks for the entire FY - they may be able to claim the attached franking credits on the dividend component, whereas above that $5k threshold, the 45 day rule applies.
