I have to agree but it is worthy of another thread. Labor tried to bring it to the forefront last election but got it so wrong!
I believe any family home worth more than twice the average house price in Sydney or Melbourne should be considered in the assets test for the pension.
My position is,any government payment should be seen as a safety net and not an entitlement.
I would go as far to say that a bit of community service for any government payments to anyone would not hurt, school crossing guard, meals on wheels etc.

So you want granny pensioner to sell her house that she's been in for 60 years, move away from her friends, her support group's and memories and then get a job as a school crossing guard.
The simpletons are alive and well on HC.
