Because every Boomer is *entitled* to a welfare cheque, their $1m+ four bedroom home and $500k in investments. Because... nostalgia.
The thirty year old with a couple of kids who loses their job should (and is) be forced to sell basically everything they own before they receive a welfare payment that is insufficient to provide both food and shelter, let alone anything else.
I guess the Boomer is just a more deserving person.
