Yeah, except that it was a 40% reduction. Not 60%. This results in a 25% reduction (from peak) in final output. Which funnily enough puts it near the original nameplate.
The news reporter can't read properly apparently. I am guessing it was meant to be a reduction to 60% in the original WA article but got messed in the editing, however it is misleading (or just shows their lack of understanding) because its actually a 25% reduction in output. The difference is being made up from ore already stockpiled which couldn't be used before, but now with the new sorting circuit installed is usable. so effectively they take 60% from the mine + 15% from the stockpile blend it together and produce 75% of current output (assuming a linear relationship between input and output).
