Some automakers? I think its pretty clear that most major carmarkers are betting on the EV revolution and have poured billions into it and some like VW have recently ear marked to spend billions more. This is still very early stages in the transition to EVs with tech in this field in its infancy still. Many seem to think the EV revolution will happen overnight and others seem to think that the major carmarkers that are pouring billions into this EV market dont have a clue
