There's an old Roman saying "Pannicus Nottus" which applies here (actually I made that up - but the principle applies)
I've been invested in SGQ since 2012
During that time the share price has had the following colour sequence: RED (usually immediately after I have purchased) GREEN, RED, RED, VERY RED, RED, GREEN, VERY GREEN, VERY VERY GREEN, GREEN, RED, GREEN, RED, RED, VERY RED, RED, GREEN,RED, RED, VERY RED, RED, GREEN, VERY GREEN, VERY VERY GREEN, GREEN, RED, GREEN, RED, RED, VERY RED (must ,have purchased more) RED, GREEN, GREEN, VERY GREEN, GREEN, RED, RED, VERY RED, RED (you get my drift - you would go colour blind looking at all those colour changes) - what have I done about it - just used any pullbacks to continue to accumulate more shares whenever I had disposable funds available. Is my strategy the correct one - only the future will tell
I hope that John can keep the company out of reach of take-overs - and he may or may not be successful - my investment is predominantly for my children and grandchildren so I do not intend to sell anytime in the short to medium term (years) and I hope they will all have some hundreds of thousands of shares each - which by then I hope they will own in a company that is like an IGO is today. (IMHO - and in my humble opinion only, my expectation is that the Mt Alexander deposit is more likely than unlikely (based on company announcements and my own personal discussions with other third parties) to eventually show a multi Billion dollar high grade low cost mineral deposit - and at the moment the East Laverton gold prospective tenements (which is why I initially invested in SGQ) are taking a back seat to the Mt Alexander Nickel/Copper/Cobalt/PGE opportunity- in a very positive gold price environment - that alone tells a story if one can read between lines.
All speculative stocks are more subject to volatility, SGQ is no exception - if you do not have the patience or appetite for risk any speculative stock is not what should be purchased. Exploration stocks rely on complete drilling campaigns not just what the next hole tells With SGQ the current campaign (and I am sure what will follow next year) is a combination Exploration/Step out/Resource definition campaign - and, even though sometimes you will see posts on HC that say a drill result is negative, rest assured - every drill hole - and the associated logging of it, are important to understanding the complex geology of this mineral deposit.
The fundamentals show very significant potential for SGQ, Nickel stocks in particular, and the whole battery minerals sector - but fundamentals sometimes lay idle awaiting the whole story to pan out. We want it to happen soon - and it may start happening in stages - but we just do not know how long it will take
I did very substantial due diligence and consulted with third party geological and mining professionals prior to investing. (As part of my investment is in my superannuation fund my rules deemed this necessary - but I'm glad I did it anyway as it has given me peace of mind that IMHO this is a considerably de-risked speculative investment - I went to several Resources conferences AGM's, investor briefings etc and I spoke with John Prineas and Tim Hronsky (before he had to slow down due to ill health) (and I continue to speak directly with John in particular - in fact in one conversation I asked him what was the best thing that had happened as far as SGQ was concerned - and he said that for him Mt Alexander had relieved pressure on him - the inference being that it is a discovery of a new Nickel camp and now the proving of how big it is becomes the next step (notwithstanding the need to prove it using the industry JORC process)
I do not offer advice - all I suggest is to be patient and trust in your research that you would no doubt have done before investing.
There are some very knowledgable posters on the SGQ threads. It is easy to see who they are - they are the ones that don't talk about the next drill hole or where the share price is going - they are the ones that provide valuable interpretive information to help us less informed try to understand the significance of the company announcements (and they usually have a very high Great idea to Likes ratio - actually on that note, could I trouble you to throw in a few hundred Great Ideas for this post as I'm lagging significantly behind
@helmenesh in particular in that regard)
John Prineas has always been approachable no matter how busy he is.
My only advice is to not rely on anything that is said on any stock forums - do your own research and trust your own judgement - and welcome to the SGQ threads
