Each city should have a plant and major regional centres over time.
The idea of relying on rain to dictate our economic future can be solved with this technology.
As for the inland as regional desalination occurs pipelines and underground storage is a viable alternative.
Evaporation is a major problem with traditional dams.
If we were really serious we could drought proof our country in all but the most inaccessible desert and non inhabitable areas.
The UAE is a case in point and that has been achieved with old technology.Although underground bore water has been an important function in their success in supplying water.
