While that is possible, the announcement does talk about Sanofi's Consumer Health division, which sell over the counter products. Ventolin (made by GSK) is over the counter in Australia, but you need to talk to a pharmacist. If Sanofi do move into Asthma care, it may not be a consumer product. Relievers are only sold on prescription.
