In exactly 5 weeks from today, the first-half trading period closes and FMG will begin to calculate, literally, the Billions & Billions of dollars earned in Revenue (and Profit) for the 6 month period to 31 December 2019. The Board will then determine how much to distribute back to shareholders by way of the half-yearly dividend.
On 19 February 2020, the company will announce its Half Year results (and announce the date the half-yearly dividend will be paid)
Keep in mind that the AUD/USD exchange rate has not been over 69c in the past 4 months. The iron ore price is once again rallying and is now almost USD$91 a tonne. (It's up 15.1% since November 11)
I expect shareholders will be in for a very nice surprise, and have calculated a AUD$0.50 a share dividend will be announced.
