" Reading into the quarterlies for microcaps like Beam can be misleading as their sales are relatively lumpy and can vary considerably from quarter to quarter. Given that Beam has some one-off expenses relating to the launch of new devices, it wouldn't be right to extrapolate last quarter's numbers into future quarters.I tend to pay more attention to the half-year and full year as long as the company has funding flexibility. In Beam's case, it's comforting to see they can tap on a $2.8m debt facility if needed.Might I also add that cash is always an issue with microcaps - otherwise they wouldn't be a microcap! As someone wiser than me once said: if you choose to invest in microcaps, it means you are essentially committing to all their future capital raisings. This is why you only invest in those who have the best business models. If you have a good business, you can always find funding. "
