If you don’t properly paste fill you end up getting roof stability issues and sink holes and destroy the whole underground.. have a look at the deaths at nifty in 2015 I think. You can’t just rape and pillage the high grade ore out for too long without appropriate back filling.. the Indians did that then sold it as they didn’t want to foot the bill for the paste fill... and MLX has been fighting to repair the mine ever since..
