The CEO needs to own the guidance and be held accountable for it. Once he has settled in and has a proper gauge of where the business is headed in 2020 and how he can improve it I am sure he will update the market with guidance.
I think it is actually a nice sign of respect to the new CEO that they would like to leave the issue of guidance to him for when he is ready. I couldn’t think of a worse way to start in a new position than to be tied to and responsible for someone else’s view of guidance.
