The plant capacity at Gigee is around 600,000 tonnes per annum. Towards the end of the Abelle ownership period ,later last year, they were blending high grade ore from underground with a low grade stockpile (around 0.8gt) to keep the plant at the most efficient throughput level-at least that is what appears to be the case.
It would not surprise to see the Wilson shoots fast tracked to replace the low grade stockpile argument. The mining rate from Mali/Senegal etc would appear to be limited by decline access-ie they cant get it out quick enough.
This sort of scenario would be consistent with the placement announcement.
The Wilson shoots have been previuosly mined down to about 60 metres, where the three shoots move from transition to refractory ore . Biox leaching at Wiluna suggests recoveries of better than 80 %.-if this orebody is developed there would be additional capex required in acquiring a Biox circuit coupled with either the laying back of the existing pit, or initial underground development.(And Biox is not without its risks though the research down todate on this ore appears quite detailed).
    Good punting!
