I found it almost humorous that the bloke doing the podcast had worked for mining companies and the BLM and then couldnt realise why INR wants to mine that particular area....

Surely common sense would kick in. Perhaps the highest grades are here.....? I haven't even worked in mining and I can gather this. I find it particularly interesting that Patrick stated "Its not that we dont want a mine there" - perhaps a hint that some amicable solution could be reached?

Side note to the above. It appears INR are now legally a party involved in the legal case:
