Shares were consolidated 1 for 20. So, to put it simply : if your late father bought 20 share originally, there would now be 1 share. So for example, if he paid 15 cents / share originally, the total cost of 20 shares would have been 15c x 20 = 300 cents ($3.00) (the cost-base). Today (after consolidation) 1 share would be $3.00 (the cost base)
Professional investors also consider the 'time cost' of money and (annual) returns related to the risk associated with an investment's asset class. Early stage biotech's are generally high risk and therefore should have the potential to yield multiples of funds invested at an early stage.
