There is good news in your post: 1. "his mind is still active - and going at a million miles per hour"; and 2. "He is able to carry on a good conversation".

One of the many key elements for stroke recovery is the mental state of the person. It is vital that he is assisted in dealing with associated depression in order that his recovery is holistic and swift.

Initially, we can all help him by posting our well wishes and further down the track his army of HC friends may be able to make some contact to boost his spirits. Lets see how it goes for the moment.
