The Global X Lithium and Battery Tech ETF is a passively managed ETF that tracks the Solactive Global Lithium Index. It doesn’t care whether any of its constituents reflect good value. AGY was added to the index at the end of October, but it takes time to buy enough stock to replicate the index when a stock is as small and illiquid as AGY. They have apparently been buying using a participation strategy and will likely continue until they match the underlying index weight. Nice work by @GCar to demonstrate the pattern.
